Cabling Technician

1. Works with Lead Installer on cabling projects so they will be completed on time and on budget
2. Establishes and maintains professional working relationships with both internal and external customers and ensures their needs are met.
3. Troubleshoots technical networks including voice, data, video and paging
4. Completes personnel documents as necessary (time cards, expense reports, vacation requests, etc.).
5. Works with Lead Installer and customers to resolve complex or sensitive problems and complaints.
6. Follows all AMS.NET safety policies and procedures

1. Ability to complete reports correctly.
2. Excellent problem solving skills.
3. Professional customer service skills including use of the telephone in a courteous manner.
4. Knowledge of low voltage wiring
5. Ability to understand technical information
6. Understanding of network standards and maintenance
7. Ability to troubleshoot technical networks including voice, data, video and paging
8. Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
9. Good time management and organizational skills
10. Attention to detail

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma (or equivalent)
• Some college preferred
• 1-3 years experience in low voltage cabling

Certifications:

•  Manufacturing certifications preferred

Special Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Ability to climb ladders
• Ability to work in confined spaces

• Automobile with car insurance
• Frequent travel to customer sites
